IN NÖ DOK group exhibiton "In Der Raum"   2016  Prandauerstrasse 2 St Pölten

This installation is a commentary on Sculptural practices such as forming and casting, and the evidence of these practices in this work are used in a Fable of our Materialism towards life.
It became clear to me that it was impossible to create a being of the Pieta Group -Michelangelos Pieta in St Peters Rome- because this leads directly back to the sculpture itself. Rather coming at it tangentally, one could perhaps decribe the devoutness and purity through the juxtaposition of the absurd and superficial. there was i thought, after making it, something rather Pathetic and cartoon like in the upright Pieta Child 2013,-think of the Barbapapa cartoon TV series-. Pathetic because the first Child looks at the newly pressed Pieta Clone, and the Uterine press with hairy silicon placenta, from which it came, and its eyes have an air of sadness, as if the older Pieta Child asks... Is this what it has all come to?
